Mom is upstairs this morning getting ready for me to take her to the airport. You and your family have been on my mind since our conversation on Sunday. I'm not sure how much help I was in the conversation with you and Amy on your moving decision. I'm concerned that since I was put "on the spot" that I wasn't much help to your family.
My thoughts turned to "what would my dad do?" He seemed to have the knack to come up with advice that always seemed to work for the best and I wish I had inherited that skill of his.
As I was thinking about Dad, my thoughts turned toward a little saying he had on his desk at work. The saying is written on a small eisle with a painting of a weather vane. This weather vane is shaped like a small ship and is pointing to the west. I remember visiting his office once and one of his co-workers came in to talk to dad about something and I was introduced. At one point in our short conversation this man pointed to the object on Dad's desk and said to me "You are a lucky young man because that's how your Dad lives." I never forgot that.Saying on the eisle "A father measures his wealth not in his possessions, but in the happiness of his family"
Live like Grandpa did.
Love Dad
